New Bearing System for Wind Turbines

With the new gearbox mounts for wind turbines, ContiTech confirms its development competence in the field of wind energy. A special section of the Hanover show is devoted to this sector, which holds such high promise for the future. ContiTech's SCHWINGMETALL® and PU special elastomer mounting elements meet the complex demands of wind turbines by delivering superb load-bearing, anti-shock and anti-vibration capabilities, as well as good damping of the critical resonances affecting load-bearing components. The technology on display covers just a small spectrum of what the company offers: Tear-resistant dome-mount are used for acoustic decoupling of pod housing, while SCHWINGMETALL® and MEGI® standard articles are employed to provide elastic mounting of converters and switchgear cabinets and other important functional parts. Other solutions shown have been developed to meet specific customer demands.

The latest demonstration of ContiTech Vibration Control's development competence is a modern mount system with optimized properties for gears in 1.5 to 2.9 MW wind turbines. The gearbox suspension is conceived in such a way as to allow for installation in existing systems.

ContiTech also exhibits its innovative prowess in products for marine applications. The company has developed a special mounting system for a German engine manufacturer's large marine engines. The mounting components make minimal space demands, are guaranteed against tearing, absorb relative large loads in longitudinal and transverse direction, and can be adapted for different load cases by simply modifying the inner component.

ContiTech Vibration Control underlines its expertise in hydraulically damped mounts by showcasing two new products from its SCHWINGMETALL® premium line. The new V1500 Plus and the K2000 hydromounts exhibit outstanding damping features in vertical and horizontal directions. They are thus ideally suited for engine and cab suspension on industrial, construction-site and agricultural vehicles. The SCHWINGMETALL® and MEGI® product lines are presented together. They complement one another in excellent fashion, especially as the MEGI® products expand the range of standard components for applications involving heavier loads.
